Pink Points

This is a simple princess line dress with a rather full skirt. The two characteristics that give away its age are the two piece sleeves and the glass buttons down the back. These sleeves actually fit better because they curve just like and arm does. However they are harder to sew into the armseye because the seams don’t match either the shoulder or side seam. They have to be sewn in the round and not flat like the one piece sleeves common today. Anyway, the cute part of this dress is the pink pointy trim. The trim acts as a binding. I am imagining a band of pink was sewn on then clipped at regular intervals. The edges were then pressed, trimmed, and top stitched in place. It would be so much easier to do this now with the mini-iron.
